3 Reasons Why Influencer Marketing is Important for Your Business

Influencer marketing

Influencer marketing is a strategy many small and large businesses are using for many reasons. Influencers help sell your product/service, raise brand awareness, raise engagement, and help build your brand’s credibility. Consumers rely on the opinions (reviews) influencers make on social media to help make their buying decisions. 49% of consumers depend on influencer recommendations and 40% had purchased something after seeing it on Twitter, YouTube or Instagram.

Let’s focus on three main reasons why influencer marketing is important for your business and what those reasons essentially mean.

social media engagement

Increases Engagement

  • Increasing engagement with your social media followers (and potential followers) is crucial to build a strong community. It’s great to reply to comments, DM’s, and continuously share content that relates to your audience. However, it is even better to have someone else share content promoting your brand, products and/or service.
  • Influencer marketing promotes a product for a low cost or even for receiving the product for free.
  • Having influencers promote your brand also calls for user-generated content.
  • Consider micro-influencers. They don’t have millions or even thousands of followers, but they have attracted an audience that trusts them and engages well with the influencer.

Increases Brand Awareness

  • Increasing brand awareness correlates with increasing engagement. When an influencer promotes your brand, they are reaching a wider audience, perhaps an audience your brand hasn’t yet reached.
  • Collaborating with influencers who have the same target audience as your business, is also key.
  • Opinions of influencers are valuable to their followers, therefore, your brand will be placed in a credible context.

Increases Diversity

We could go on and on about why you should invest in influencer marketing for your business, but in short terms, influencer marketing can increase your overall brand equity. It is one of the most noted strategies in business marketing plans and something more and more businesses are using.
