Looking for ways to reinvent your business? Here are 5 tips to help your business.
Picture this, your business is doing amazing. Your hitting all your sales goals and you’re on target to have the best year! But then curveballs are thrown at you and in an instant, you’re forced to readjust your business model due to a store closure or a global health crisis. What do you do? Don’t panic. Here are 5 tips to help you readjust your business in a time of need.
Connect with Customers on Social Media
There is a big world out there when it comes to social media. The trick is to see how social media can best work for you and your business. It is important to start small; first create an account on a platform like Facebook so that your business can start connecting with customers. When a business is not on social media, they miss out on the opportunity to capture the attention of their target audience. A study has found that people in the age group of 18-64 spend an average of 3.2 hours a day on social media. Consumers are looking for information on social media and ways to connect to your business.
Take your Business Outside
If you are looking for ways to work with your customers that doesn’t involve being in a store, consider moving outdoors if the weather permits. Many fitness studios in the summer offer classes such as yoga or kick boxing outside. A change of scenery might leave your customers wanting to more in their next lesson.
Create new options
When Uncle Sam Boat Tours opened for their 2020 season, they were faced with several challenges. There were new health guidelines that needed to be followed for the safety of their guests and crew plus there was the border closure between the United States and Canada. Several of their regularly scheduled tours travel within the two countries and with the border closure, that was no longer possible. While faced with this challenge, they readjusted their current tours so that guests can still enjoy some of the 1864 islands available in the 1000 Islands region of upstate New York. When faced with this type of obstacle, look for alternative ways to still meet your customers needs. Listen to the needs of your customers to see if something can still be offered.
Partner with Other Businesses
A great way to expand your customer base is to partner with other businesses in your region. A candle store could showcase their products inside a décor shop. A restaurant and winery could work together to offer a themed dinner. A little bit of business exposure can go a long way.
Offer Delivery or Curbside Pickup
If your customers don’t have the ability to shop in store, there are alternatives so that they can still enjoy the products offered. Something else to consider is offering free local delivery or curbside pickup. This may not seem like a big or even necessary adjustment however, the convenience is noticed by customers. It’s the little things that matter the most.
As you can see, there are several ways to readjust your business during a time of need. Sometimes we need to take a deep breath, readjust, and refocus on what is the best way to meet our customer’s needs. You can do it! I believe in you!
