Social Media and Small Businesses – 3 Tips to succeed

If you’re a small business owner, you’re probably thinking how you can gain more business through social media but you don’t know where to start. You have a webpage as well as an Instagram and Facebook page but that’s it. Below are three tips to show you how to use social media to your advantage and grow your business.

3 Tips to Succeed

  1. Create Content

It’s 2021. You should be living the C.R.E.A.M Motto (CONTENT Rules Everything Around Me)! If your Social Media Pages are lacking content, that’s why you’re not seeing any results. If you’re a baker, share pictures of what you are baking and what you have available for purchase. Share recipes as well. Content attracts followers who will turn into customers. Your social media should reflect your business through images and graphics (Instagram), thoughtful words and/or engaging open-ended questions to promote engagement (Twitter), and a combination of both (Facebook). It’s also important to note that you may think you need a fancy camera to create content. You don’t. You need your phone and good lighting and you can use apps like Canva to become a content creating genius.

2. Use Hashtags

In order to expand your reach on social media and reach YOUR audience, you need to properly use hashtags. If you are a florist in Atlanta, you should be using hashtags like #ATLFlorist #AtlantaFlorist #AtlantaFlowers #ATLFlowers to be placed under the content for those hashtags. Users are now searching for things they need by the use of hashtags. As a small business, you should research the hashtags you should use. You can look at your competition or utilize sites like Hashtag Expert to get hashtags relevant to your business.

3. Use SEO

The reason your website is not gaining the traction it should is because it’s not being found on search engines. Your site should make it to the first page of Google and Yahoo. Utilizing SEO Tools like content, links, and reviews to get pushed to the top of search engines. When your target audience type “Florist in Atlanta” on Google, your business should be on the first two pages (the first is better).

These 3 tips will take your small business to the next level. You will be able to reach more of your target audience by branching out to using social media. In the times of being at home more, your audience is online searching for things. Meet them halfway by bringing your brand to social media.
